Pastor William B. Demps, Sr.

Picture
Pastor William B. Demps, Sr. was born September 6, 1955 in Valdosta, Georgia to Cornelius and Pinkie Demps. His family moved several years later a few miles north to Macon, Georgia where he grew up. He is the second eldest with four brothers and four sisters. He was nurtured early in life in a spirit-filled home.

His parents always worked hard and instilled these same values in their children. His father was a contractor and built homes and churches throughout Georgia with the help of his sons. They worked with equal diligence serving in the church.

His father was ultimately called to Pastor and his family became the first members. Unknown to Pastor this was all preparation for things to come. He took an interest in music and took a special interest in drumming and singing. This love for music made him eager to learn all it's aspects. he soon found himself immersed in the technical side of music encompassing engineering and recording. Yet another preparation for things to come. Like David prepared Solomon for the building of the House of God. Pastor has been preparing his sons to make full utilization of the talents God has blessed them with.

Pastor Demps moved to Seattle in late 1978 seeking the prosperous opportunities rumored to be afforded its residents. He soon learned that no only did God had several excellent job opportunities waiting for him. He had to choose between between several good jobs. Success and fortune are great but for some it's even greater when there is someone to share it with. The Demps family were close friends with the Williams family while they were in Valdosta. Upon moving toMacon they remained friends even if distance separated them for awhile. Once united reunited as the children  began to grow into adults, friendships blossomed into love. Ultimately 3 Demps' wedded 3 Williams', caught in the middle was Pastor William and Deborah. This time distance truly made the heart grow fonder and Deborah moved to Seattle. Determined not to allow distance to separate them again they were married on December 7, 1980. To this union they had 2 sons, William Jr. and Benjamin. They also have been Foster Parents to many children including their current sons Brandon Washington and Zebelum Willis and daughter Ashlee Esters.

Pastor Demps joined Unity COGIC after faithful service at Smith Temple. He began working at Unity COGIC under the leadership of Supt. J.E. Hicks. He was soon elevated and became a Deacon there. In 1992 he answered the call of God into Word Ministry. He became licensed under Supt. Hicks and served faithfully.

In 1994 Pastor Demps felt the call of God to Pastor. He prayed long and hard about it and went to the COGIC National Holy Convocation. It was there that he received  his final confirmation. In January 1995 Pastor Demps founded the Paradise COGIC.

Currently Paradise of Praise has become a Non-Denominational Ministry and is no longer part of the COGIC. Our new name is Paradise of Praise Ministry.

God has truly lead and anointed our pastor in these past 13 years. God has given him a vision and he's determined to see it through. Persevering until He receives, The Shepherd's True Reward!
